Do I need an account?

No. Cafore Ledger does not require sign-in or an online account.

Where is my ledger data stored?

Your ledger data is stored locally on your device. The app does not upload your ledger to a server.

How do backups work?

You can export a JSON backup from the app and save or share it using the iOS share sheet. You can also import a JSON backup through the file picker.

How does the app lock work?

If you enable the optional 4-digit app lock, the PIN is stored using the iOS Keychain.

Can I recover a forgotten PIN?

Cafore Ledger does not have an online account recovery system. Keep your PIN and backup files safe.

Privacy Summary

Cafore Ledger is designed to be local by default. The app does not use ads, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies.

  • No sign-in is required.
  • No cloud sync is included.
  • No advertising identifier is used.
  • Backup export and import are initiated by you through standard iOS interfaces.

Troubleshooting

I cannot save an entry.

Create at least one account and one matching category in Settings > Library before recording entries. Transfers require at least two accounts.

My imported backup fails.

Make sure the file is a valid Cafore Ledger JSON backup exported from the app.

I found a bug.

Email support with the steps to reproduce the issue. Screenshots are helpful if they do not contain sensitive financial information.
